This collection of Kazimierz Orlos's short stories, the author of The Marvellous Den and The Gobi Desert among other works, is composed on the basis of the dramatic unity of time and action. These are works about Stalinism and its victims, of maimed consciousness and history, while at the same time being about youth and innocence. In them the problem of evil appears, the question of a mirror image reflection appearing in the experiences of generations that come afterwards, the eternal question of the Creator of the world, "the heavenly Glazier".
