About the author
A Journal of Return consists of two parts: the first is made up of sketches in the form of a diary, and was written in Mexico on Rancho La Epifania. They were written when the author was already beginning to think of leaving Mexico and returning to Europe. The second part, contains sketches which Slawomir Mrozek wrote after his return to Poland. They form an attempt to come to terms with the - for Mrozek - new reality, as well as to unite experiences which originated in worlds that were so distant from one another in both time and space.
