Ukrainian translation of ‘Wieczór pełen cudów’ by Joanna Jagiełło
The Night of Miracles in Ukrainian translation was published by the Urbino publishing house from Lviv. The title of the book in Ukrainian reads “Вечір, сповнений чудес”.
The Night of Miracles is a touching Christmas story aimed at slightly younger readers. The book’s main character, little Marcel, tries to make his Christmas a great day. He does this not only for himself, but also for his younger sister Irenka, who still believes in Father Christmas, and for his dad, who very rarely smiles after the death of Marcel’s mum.
Joanna Jagiełło is the author of many books for children and young people, such as Kawa z kardamonem (“Coffee with Cardamom”), Oko w oko z diplodokiem (“Eye to Eye with a Diplodocus”), Zielone martensy (“Green Dr Martens”), Tam, gdzie zawracają bociany (“Where Storks Turn Back”), or Popękane życie (“Cracked Life”). In the past, she collaborated with the youth magazines ‘Perspektywy’ and ‘Cogito’.
