Poland at the Taipei International Book Exhibition 2026
At the Polish booth, selected publications from catalogs prepared by the Book Institute will be showcased: New Books from Poland, New Books from Poland – Poetry, and Polish Books for Children and Young Adults. Visitors to our stand will also be able to explore Polish titles available in traditional Chinese.
Taiwanese readers will have the chance to meet illustrator Joanna Bartosik, who will participate in an author event and conduct workshops for children based on the Taiwanese edition of the book series My Mom, My Dad (trans. Wei-Yun Lin, Taiwan Mac Educational, 2024). Meetings with young readers will take place in Taipei as part of TIBE and at the Taichung Green Museumbrary.
Visitors to the Polish booths will have the opportunity to learn more about our Nobel laureate Wisława Szymborska. A specially prepared book exhibition, a meeting devoted to Collected Poems (publ. Horizon, 2025) translated into traditional Chinese by Wei-Yun Lin-Górecka, and other attractions prepared by the translator aim to encourage readers to delve deeper into the life and work of the outstanding poet.
The 34th edition of the Taipei International Book Exhibition also includes a business zone, featuring panels, discussions with publishing market professionals, and meetings with foreign publishers from Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Korea, Japan, Thailand, and of course Taiwan. This year’s guest of honor is Thailand.
Joanna Maciuk, a representative of the Mięta publishing house, is participating in a seminar for foreign publishers organized by TAICCA, where she will take part in a panel on book markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
The fair will continue until Sunday, February 8th.
