About the magazine
Nowe Książki is a literary criticism monthly, published since 1949. It contains reviews of new publications, essays, interviews and survey articles.
Nowe Książki offers a critical reflection on new books in Poland – both recently published titles and phenomena and tendencies on the literary scene. The magazine is designed for those professionally tied to the publishing market and those who just love literature.
The magazine’s editors aim to uphold high standards in writing on literature and books, keeping conscious of how genres and creative languages develop, independent of the present marketing hierarchies. They also look for interesting phenomena from outside the mainstream and have a look at what is happening in literature.
The authors featured in the magazine are critics, scholars and authors who chose the content of every issue with passion and erudition.
