Promocja czytelnictwa 2025
About program
This programme serves to help fund projects that inspire people to read. Its main aim is an invitation to talk about books. The readers, their needs, aspirations and interests are what is most important. Events that help people read actively, perceive essential literary phenomena, and share their reading impressions are supported. We’re looking for initiatives of high programme quality, whose ambition is to cross barriers and oppose censorship, omission and exclusion.
We are especially focused on inclusive projects that are open to dialogue (including between languages and generations), ones that search, but also professionalise the event preparation and execution process, projects that focus on personal development, support teamwork, and tend to a remuneration of employees proper to their competencies and involvement. The programme zeroes in on Polish and foreign contemporary literature, but particular projects or parts of those projects could serve to inspire discussions on books written in the past.
The programme supports people and creative attitudes, and brings visibility to literary professions: authors, translators, editors, publishers, literary critics, proofreaders, graphic designers, drawers and illustrators. We are after projects that build lasting relationships, that are ready for many-year commitments, open to involving readers in the process of creating and carrying out events.
