Applications are open for the Mały Koneser Warsaw Fellowship for Children’s Publishers
The programme is being developed in the context of preparations for Poland’s role as the Guest of Honor at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2027, aiming to introduce foreign publishers to the Polish children’s book market and expand the availability of translations of Polish children’s authors worldwide.
The Fellowship is planned as a three-day professional meeting, encompassing networking, knowledge exchange, and business meetings between foreign publishers and representatives of ambitious, independent Polish publishing houses specializing in children’s literature. A significant element of the programme will also be the presentation of the ©POLAND Translation Programme, conducted by the Book Institute.
The event is an integral part of the Mały Koneser festival, which will take place in Warsaw on March 28–29, 2026. The festival gathers a carefully selected group of Polish publishers, authors, and illustrators, showcasing the most interesting phenomena in contemporary children’s literature. The program includes numerous author meetings, workshops for children, illustration exhibitions, and discussion panels dedicated to current trends in children’s literature, with a particular focus on the quality of illustrations, book design, and editorial work.
The Mały Koneser Warsaw Fellowship project is funded by a targeted grant awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for the implementation of the initiative titled “Poland as the Guest of Honor – Bologna Children’s Book Fair and Bologna Book Plus 2027.”
To participate in the event, you must fill out the application form. Applications are accepted until January 31, 2026. If you have any additional questions, please contact us via email at fellowship@wytwornia.com.
