Non stop – literatura polska za granicą
About program
The aim of programme is to promote the literary and artistic work of Polish authors and the translation of their works. We invite writers, poets, illustrators, translators and institutions seeking to organise events outside of Poland, as well as publishers and agencies, to reach out.
How to Apply?
Send in your applications by e-mail to targi@instytutksiazki.pl. Please title your e-mail ‘Non stop – Polish literature abroad’. In the body of the mail, please include the following information:
- what writer the submission concerns – who would take part in the trip;
- the name and time period of the event;
- general information about the initiative (g. the organiser, other planned participants);
- the sum applied for (based on estimated costs, g. travel).
If the application is made by the author themselves, there should also be an invitation from the organiser of the event. Submissions can be made all year round, with a rolling deadline, no later than two months before the date of departure.
Applications are examined in an ongoing fashion. Average response time is around two weeks. If the decision comes back positive, the formalities and time for providing support are individually set, in arrangement with the applicant.
Publishers’ and agents’ trips
- the aim is to support applicants’ efforts to sell copyrights of books by Polish authors they represent;
- a completed form (see: Downloadable Materials), containing a description of the undertaking should be sent to targi@instytutksiazki.pl (please title your e-mail ‘Non stop – Polish literature abroad’).
Submissions can be made year-round, on a rolling basis, but not later than two months before the start of the event. During their evaluation, we will take into account the nature and scope of the event, the potential of the events planned and their significance in popularising Polish literature abroad, the activity’s coherence with the present Book Institute strategy, and the Institute’s current financial and organisational capabilities.
Should the application come back positive, the formalities and time for providing support are set individually. Average response time is around two weeks.
Financing is paid out after the trip is taken, based on a report on activities carried out during the trip. In 2025, it has been determined that a publisher/agent may receive financing for one trip a year.
