Miłosz Biedrzycki in residence at International Writing Program

With this residency, the Polish Cultural Institute revives a long tradition of participation of Polish authors in the prestigious International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. As a part of his residency at the University of Iowa, Biedrzycki will participate in readings and panels with other International Writing Program writers.

Found in Translation Award 2010

The Book Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute in London and the Polish Cultural Institute in New York have the pleasure to announce that the winner of the Found in Translation Award for 2009 has been named Danuta Borchardt for her translation of Witold Gombrowicz’s “Pornografia,” published by Grove Atlantic (USA). This award recognizes the exceptional quality of the translation and the great importance of the text being translated.

Transatlantic for Pietro Marchesani

The winner of the Transatlantic Award in 2010 was named Pietro Marchesani, a translator of Polish literature into Italian. The Transatlantic Award Ceremony took place on Friday June 18th at the Manggha Center for Japanese Art and Technology in Krakow.
