Twenty-third edition of the newsletter for translators of Polish literature

The twenty-third edition of our newsletter “New Books from Poland” for the period from July to August 2025 has been published.

The newsletter is sent quarterly to translators of Polish literature from all over the world. It contains the most interesting new releases from recent months that may arouse the interest of foreign readers.

This time, translators will be introduced with the following books:

International Translation Day 2025

International Translation Day was established by the International Federation of Translators (FIT, Fédération Internationale des Traducteurs) on September 30th, the feast day of St. Jerome, author of the first Latin translation of the Bible and patron saint of all translators.

Polish-Turkish translation workshops – call for applications

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Ankara and the Book Institute, is organizing literary workshops for translators in Ankara from October 20–24, 2025. The event aims to support translation, develop translators’ competencies, and deepen cultural exchange between the countries.

Mikołaj Grynberg’s “Confidential” in English and other translations

Numerous translations have recently been published abroad with the support of the Book Institute as part of the ©Poland Translation Programme. Of particular note is the translation of Mikołaj Grynberg's prose work, Confidential, which Sean Gasper Bye has brought to English-speaking readers.

Zyta Rudzka in Spanish and other translations

Several significant translations have recently been published abroad, supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©Poland Translation Programme. Of particular note is the translation of Zyta Rudzka's novel, “Ten się śmieje, kto ma zęby”, which won the Nike Literary Award.
