‘O Kamilu, który patrzy rękami’ in Dutch

cover of the Dutch edition

Translation of Tomasz Małkowski’s book O Kamilu, który patrzy rękami (”The Boy who Sees with his Fingers”), illustrated by Joanna Rusinek, has been published in the Netherlands. The publication of the book translated by Dirk Zijlstra was supported by the Book Institute as part of the ©Poland Translation Programme.

The book, whose title in Dutch reads Kijken met mijn vingers, was published by the Clavis publishing house.

The main character of Małkowski’s book, addressed to the youngest readers, is five-year-old Kamil. The boy is blind, but apart from this fact, he is no different from his peers – he has crazy ideas and fascinating adventures, enjoys jokes, and sometimes is up to some mischief. In his book, Małkowski wants to acquaint young readers with a world where one sees with one’s fingers – different from the world of most of them, but just as interesting.

Tomasz Małkowski is an award-winning writer and respected author of history textbooks for middle school. In addition to the book The Boy who Sees with his Fingers, he has published another book for the youngest readers, Poszukiwacze zaginionej wazy (“In Search of a Lost Vase”), as well as a novel for adult readers entitled Kręgi piekła, kręgi nieba (“Circles of Hell, Circles of Heaven”).
