Tomorrow the London Book Fair will begin

On March 10 one of the most important book fairs in the publishing world, London Book Fair, opens. The Book Institute, as every year, is organising the Polish stand to enable domestic publishers and literary agencies to make business contacts and sell rights.

Visitors to the event will be able to see the offerings of forty-one Polish exhibitors at a stand larger than in previous years, covering 101 m2, designed by Pracownia Architektoniczna i Biżuteryjna Brokat from Katowice.

At Olympia London, where the event is being held for the last time, the following will present: Agencja Literacka Graal, Agencja Wydawniczo-Reklamowa Skarpa Warszawska, Agora Książka i Muzyka, Banana Panda, Czarna Owca, Czytaj dzieciom, Dom Wydawniczy Rebis, Draco, Dressler, Dwie Siostry, Edgard, Fundacja Animacja, Glossa, Grupa Zaczytania, GW Foksal, Instytut Pamięci Narodowej, Karakter, Kici Nici Alina Przydatek, Literatura, Mamy dla Mamy, Marginesy, Mięta, Muchomor, Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie, Nardowy Instytut Fryderyka Chopina, Narodowe Centrum Kultury, Natuli, Oficyna Wydawnicza Kontynenty, Panko, Państwowe Wydawnictwo Muzyczne, Państwowy Instytut Wydawniczy, Pinus Media, Poradnia K, Warszawskie Targi Książki, Wydawnictwo „Bernardinum”, Wydawnictwo Kobiece, Wydawnictwo Literackie, Wydawnictwo Poznańskie, Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego, Wydawnictwo Warsztaty Kultury w Lublinie and Znak.

The Book Institute will also present new titles from the catalogues “New Books from Poland” and “Polish Books for Children and Young Adults.” Selected books published with the support of our ©POLAND Translation Programme will also be showcased.

Additionally, at the event “Translators as agents: a solution for less translated literatures?” organised by ENLit, of which the Book Institute is an active member, one of the panelists will be translator and agent Karolina Jaszecka, alongside Alexandra Büchler (president of Literature Across Frontiers), Edgar de Bruin (president of the Pluh Literary Agency) and Francesca Novajra (translator and president of CEATL, the European Council of Literary Translators’ Associations). The event will take place on Tuesday at 3:45 PM in the Literary Translation Centre.

The London fair will run until March 12.
