The 78th Frankfurt International Book Fair, the world’s most important publishing industry event, begins on Wednesday, October 7, in Frankfurt am Main. Poland will be represented at the Frankfurt Book Fair for the 26th time, with the national stand prepared by the Book Institute.

The Frankfurt Book Fair combines an industry event with a festival and welcomes more than 4,000 exhibitors from around the world every year. In 2025, it attracted 238,000 visitors, including more than 7,800 media representatives. It will feature a selection of the best Polish books published over the past twelve months, as well as books published by Polish publishers participating in this year’s fair. For foreign publishers and translators, we have prepared, in cooperation with experts, the catalogues New Books from Poland 2026 and New Books from Poland 2026. Poetry (the catalogues will be available on our website from tomorrow). As every year in Frankfurt, the Polish Book Market report will also be launched (available here), providing industry professionals with insights into Poland’s domestic book market.

During the fair, we will also present the activities of the Book Institute, including its flagship ©Poland Translation Programme, addressed to foreign and Polish publishers of translations of Polish books.

For the second time, our stand will also host the Buchbund bookshop, where visitors will be able to purchase books by Polish authors in Polish and German. The bookshop will open on Friday afternoon, when the fair will also become accessible to the general public.
