Zaleska, Szatrawska, Miłosz and other translations of Polish books

At the end of 2025 and in the first months of 2026, further translations of Polish books appeared abroad, including the Romanian edition of Czesław Miłosz’s Rodzinna Europa, Zofia Zaleska’s Zaniechanie in Belarusian, and Ishbel Szatrawska’s Toń in German.

Within the ©Poland Translation Programme we supported translations of the following titles:

  • Bruno Jasieński, Nogi Izoldy Morgan — translated into Croatian by Adrian Cvitanović, Nebula
  • Czesław Miłosz, Rodzinna Europa — translated into Romanian by Constantin Geambașu, Tracus Arte
  • Tina Oziewicz, Co lubią uczucia — translated into Telugu by Arunank Latha, Chaaya Publication (India)
  • Władysław Reymont, Wampir — translated into English by Filip Mazurczak, Glagoslav Publications (Netherlands)
  • Zofia Zaleska, Zaniechanie — translated into Belarusian by Katarzyna Maciejewska, Januškevič Publishing House (Poland)
  • Szczepan Twardoch, Null — translated into Belarusian by Katarzyna Maciejewska, Januškevič Publishing House (Poland)
  • Joanna Bator, Gorzko, gorzko — translated into Lithuanian by Vytautas Dekšnys, Alma Littera
  • Ishbel Szatrawska, Toń — translated into German by Andreas Volk, Voland & Quist (Germany)
  • Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński, Porfirion Osiełek — translated into Italian by Lorenzo Pompeo, Salento
  • Wiesław Myśliwski, Pałac — translated into Dutch by Karol Lesman, Querido

A second call for applications to the ©Poland Translation Programme for 2026 is currently open and will close on 15 September 2026.
