Zaleska, Szatrawska, Miłosz and other translations of Polish books

At the end of 2025 and in the first months of 2026, further translations of Polish books appeared abroad, including the Romanian edition of Czesław Miłosz’s Rodzinna Europa, Zofia Zaleska’s Zaniechanie in Belarusian, and Ishbel Szatrawska’s Toń in German.

Within the ©Poland Translation Programme we supported translations of the following titles:

Poland at the International Book Fair and Svět knihy Literary Festival 2026

On Thursday, May 14, the 31st edition of the International Book Fair and Svět knihy Literary Festival in Prague began. The event, which runs until Sunday, May 17, will be attended by a whole host of Polish authors.

Poland at the Turin International Book Fair

Today the International Book Fair in Turin, the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino, begins. This is the thirty-eighth edition of the event and the fourth one where you can visit the Polish stand, prepared by the Polish Book Institute in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Rome. The event will run until Monday, May 18.

International Book Fair in Thessaloniki – report

Polish literature is featured at the International Book Fair in Thessaloniki, held from 7–10 May 2026. The Embassy of the Republic of Poland, in cooperation with the Book Institute, has prepared a booth promoting recent domestic publications.

Polish stand at the International Book Fair in Rabat

For the first time in history, books by Polish authors will be presented at the International Book Fair in Morocco’s capital, Rabat. The Polish stand, organized jointly by the Book Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Morocco, marks the opening of a new chapter in literary exchange between Poland and the Arabic-speaking countries, where our literature remains largely unknown.
