Applications for the Albrecht Lempp Scholarship for 2027 are open

Jakub Szamałek has been awarded the Grand Prix de littérature policière 2026, a prestigious French prize for crime fiction, in the foreign-language category for Stacja (“The Station”). The novel by the Polish author was published last October in Kamil Barbarski’s translation by the Métailié publishing house.

The Galaxy Award is one of the most prestigious science fiction book polls in China. Winners are chosen by a jury together with readers who vote in the poll. The Galaxy Awards have been presented since 1986.

The International Literary Festival Vilenica 2026 is taking place in Slovenia from 1 to 5 September. This is the 41st edition of the event. This year it features three authors from Poland — Joanna Łępicka, Robert Rybicki and Natalka Suszczyńska.

The event dedicated to the English translation of the novel 'Ice', published by the AdAstra imprint (of Head of Zeus), also featured the translator Ursula Phillips, and was chaired by Uilleam Blacker.

Małgorzata Lebda visited the United Kingdom from 14–16 May 2026 on the occasion of the English-language edition of the collection Mer de Glace. The visit was supported by the Polish Institute in London and by the Book Institute as part of the Nonstop — Polish literature abroad programme.

On Thursday, May 14, the 31st edition of the International Book Fair and Svět knihy Literary Festival in Prague began. The event, which runs until Sunday, May 17, will be attended by a whole host of Polish authors.
