Frequently asked questions
First, try searching for the author by entering a few letters of their first or last name, and then select the author from the suggestions in the drop-down list. If the author’s name does not appear in the suggestions, add them to the database by clicking “Add a new author to the database”. Fill in the first and last name fields and click “Add.” Upon returning to the application form, search for the author again and select them from the drop-down list.

If the translator’s name does not appear in the suggestions list, add them to the database by clicking “Add translator,” complete the required fields, and click “Add translator.” After returning to the application form, search for the translator again and select them from the drop-down list.

Within the PTCP program, it is possible to apply for new translations of the same work, reissues of previously published books, or new editions of works that have already been published. However, we need to know when the most recent edition of the work was published in your country.

Providing the year of the most recent edition is mandatory.
The publisher may apply for funding of printing costs only if the book contains illustrations. If this is the case, select “Yes” in the form and provide the number of illustrations. A field for entering printing costs will then appear below.
Under the Program, you may apply for funding for the acquisition of copyrights and translation costs. It is also possible to apply for funding of printing costs, but only for books that contain illustrations.
The distribution and marketing plan should describe the methods that will be used to distribute and sell the book. The plan should also define the tools and communication methods that will ensure the best possible reach to potential readers.
A translation is protected by copyright. Using a translation requires the consent of the translator behind the original translation.
Any additional documents and descriptions (e.g. recommendations, reviews, reports) that may help convince the evaluators of the importance of publishing the work in the language in question.

The PTCP regulations allow applicants to seek additional funding for the same book from another grant provider, sponsor, or donor. In such cases, you must inform us of this fact by specifying the purpose of the additional funding and the date when you expect to receive information about the funding decision. If you do not know the exact date, please provide an approximation.
Yes, you may choose up to three formats: ebook, audiobook, and printed book. The primary and preferred format funded by PTCP is the printed book. In exceptional cases, with the consent of the Director of the Book Institute, applications for works published exclusively as an audiobook and/or ebook may be accepted.
